Sonrisa Photography specializes in creative photography for your portrait needs. My goal is to offer you a contemporary, modern alternative to traditional posed or studio photographs.

I believe the most poignant images are often the simplest ones. My portraiture reveals my passion for natural light photography in a relaxed setting. As the mother of three young children, I understand the importance of establishing an easy rapport with children in a comfortable, unhurried setting in order to best capture their unique personalities.

I look forward to collaborating with you on your creative photography needs.

I Surrender- Old Town Spring, TX

To the army of mosquitoes in Houston, Texas, this is my official plea for mercy!

Oh my gosh, I had such high hopes for yesterday’s session.  Allison is a very good friend and does makeup for my clients, on occasion, so I’m very familiar with her and her family.   I’ve been photographing Miss E since she was brand spanking new and she’s always so much fun to photograph.

Allison and I covered all the details….the location, the outfits, the props, but we forgot one very important detail…..OFF!  The mosquitoes ate us alive!  I’ve been going on and on lately about the heat (and let me say that yesterday was no exception….it was HOT) but the mosquitoes proclaimed victory, for sure!  Lucky for me, Allison and her family are toughies (including Doodle the Poodle) and I was able to get some great shots in between all the slapping and scratching.  Haha!

We had such high hopes for a Daddy/daughter tea party, but I think we were sitting on a mosquito breeding ground.  Yuck!

Debra Klawetter - Granted, I’m not the one still itching, but I think these are worth every last mosquito bite! Beautiful, Rita! :)

Cuteness- Spring, TX

Yesterday I had my first session in Old Town Spring with the cutest family of three.  It was early morning, but being the typical summer in Houston, it was still very hot and huuuuumid!!  Still, through the sweat and tears (exaggerating…no tears were shed during this session. lol), they battled the heat and I was able to get some great shots of all three, including a few of the little man solo.  His expression in the fourth one down is priceless! I’d give him anything he wants with that little grin.  Haha!

Family Beach Session- Galveston, TX

I have to say this is definitely going into my list of “all time favorites”!!  Gorgeous family, gorgeous outfits, gorgeous day…..need I say more?

On your mark, get set, GOOOOOO!

Genuine smiles. :-)  You can’t beat that.

Classic Family- San Antonio, TX

Very few families request a completely black and white session, but I will generally add a few of my favorites in black and white to a gallery to  show what they’ll look like.  Personally, I think black and white is so classic, clean and crisp.  No matter what the room color or decor is in your home, a black and white portrait will ALWAYS look stunning on your wall, desk or favorite furniture piece.

Just check out this sweet family with their two baby boys and tell me they didn’t make the right choice in going with black and white.:-)  L-O-V-E!

E- Session- Houston, TX

Yes, we also managed to get a few of these, too. ;-)

Rae Pulver - You did a fabulous job on Matt and Stacey’s engagement portraits. I love the laughter you captured; I couldn’t help but grin from ear to ear looking at them. And the last two, my oh, you can just feel the love between them. :)
